Error: Directory has no index file

I just finished installing vb5 in a directory on a website. Installation went through with no errors. When I try to go to the root of the site, it is stating "Directory has no index file." --There is quite obviously an index.php file in the root of the directory.

I tried adding index.php to .htaccess but it appears to not have fixed it. Any help is very much appreciated.
