1 User cannot send PM's
I have one user that cannot send PM's .He can reply to a pm but when he tries to send a PM he gets this message:
HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected condition was encountered while the server was attempting to fulfill the request. The biggest problem is that user is me! I have full super admin rights. I have tried disabling all plugins. I have logged in as other users and PM's work tried from a diff IP address. I have eliminated everything but user id # This started today and the only changes made today were I added some banners. I undid those changes but still have this problem. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. |

Do you have any type of IP blacklist on your hosting? This one is an odd situation indeed. Check your cookie domain and cookie path, make sure those are correct. If you change those, clear your cache and cookies then try again. If you still have the problem then do you have vBSEO or any type of SEO?

We are experiencing several little quirks here lately. We will update to 4.2 next week and then see what happens.

possibly that member is blacklisted or his/her IP is denied from this feature. make sure about the PM permission for that member and whether his/her membership feature from cp is as the others.

That is a server error, so is there anything in the error_logs (if you don't know where they are, ask your host) at the time of the error?

An FYI most hosts keep an error_log directory within the root of your site so look for that before putting in a ticket.

Thanks guys, I'll look at logs. As of now we share the server with another site. I found out that the other site went down at the same time my PM's quit working. Good thing is when we update we are going to a new server of our own.
