Can't find code I put in my site, HELP

I put in an AD that shows after the last post of a thread, between the last post and the quick reply box. I edited in the code into a template myself but now I can't find it in my templates. I thought it would be in the SHOWTHREAD or SHOWTHREAD_QUICKREPLY but I can not find it.

It it is some code by INVISIONFREE that I put in myself that is rotating two banner ads.

If you know you edited a template, try using "Search in Templates" to find it. Also, when you go to the Style Manager and Edit Templates on your style, any templates that have been changed will be red.

Also, in the admincp under Settings > Options > General Settings you can temporarily set "Add Template Name in HTML Comments" to Yes, then when you view the HTML source of a page you can find the code you want to remove and look at the comments to figure out which template it's in (remember to turn off that option when you're done since it makes your page size larger).

I tried the search templates using key words from the code and it only pulled up the OTHER ad codes I have running on the site. This one I am looking for is one I put in manually.
I am aware of the ones that have been modified are RED. I will look more tonight. I have changed this one code a few times and now I can't find it. ha ha ha
I will try the other why you suggested.

Are you sure you didn't put the code in the ad manager or in a plugin?

I used AD manager for other ones like it but this one I thought I did manually, sticking it in a template on my own.

now when I do what you said to do do I just look at the FIRST template listed and go into that one in templates and look for my code?

I ask because with in the first one listed when I view source there are many others with in it, which is SHOWTHREAD being the main first one listed and closed out with it. That one is RED and I have went over it many times and dont see it. Maybe I am jsut blind.

It can be a little tricky to figure out which template you want from the comments because obviously they are "nested". You kind of have to go backward from the code and find the first Begin comment that doesn't match an End that comes before the code. But it's true, usually if you go back and start seeing lots of being/end pairs it means what you want is the top one.

Are the comments still on? If you post what code you're looking at, I can take a look.

Hmm...if you're sure you're looking at the template for the right style, then I'd check for a plugin that's setting $template_hook['postbit_end'].
