I have a large category with 10 sections. How do I make it so that for this category, it shows 3 separate last post on forumhome?

Have you checked the mods area? I know I have seen a mod for this, however I don't know if it is for just one forum (and not all on the page), but you can always modify it to do what you want. Be aware that this WILL add queries to your page (which can make server loads go up).
