how to change CMS path

i have installed vb forum in /forum folder. cms is also installed on the same location. i am redirecting my domain to /forum. what i want to keep the forum in the same location and put the cms on root directory. so that i can remove the redirection. i dont want to change the forum location as this could create problem in google indexing.
