vbulletin to vbulletin import of threads
The site I have has had many mods installed, not all of them correctly. The boards have had issues for years and though we are in the process of cleaning up the boards and removing useless tables, I still cannot get a successful upgrade from 3.6.1 to 4.2. The current software was owned by the previous owner and I just bought Connect. Many of the mods, etc. were installed live on the site.
What I really would like to do is just import the threads from the current board and start brand new and shiny on the new software at 4.2. Any suggestions on how to do that? I have started a development box and production server setup so that I can test out any mods and styles first before doing the move. I have searched quite a bit and have not found anything that addresses my particular situation. |

You can't just keep threads. Threads are created in forums and are made up of posts which are made by users and sometimes have attachments. You need to keep all those things.
Have you tried doing an upgrade to 3.8.7 first and then upgrading to 4.2? |
