Usergroup User Title override

Ok, in the usergroup settings you can put a title there to override the user title. i have tried to get this to work but on the forum but it always displays the users rank on the forum and not the title i set up in the usergroup. how do i force the user title for the usergroup to show up instead of their rank on the forums? thanks

Well, ranks and titles are different. But I assume you mean the one you put in there isn't overriding the "title ladder" based on the user's posts? I'm not sure if it matters, but maybe try going to Maintenance > General Update Tools and running "Update User Titles and Ranks", if you haven't already.

ok so anytime someone registers it will put the standard title member or whatever on their name. then once a week or so i need to run the update user titles for it to force the custom one on their name? thanks man, appears to have worked

I think it will work on it's own now, it's just when you change it in the usergroup manager that you need to do the rebuild.
