I have done a search and wasnt able to find what I am looking for. I hope someone can help.
I am looking for a way to make a few forums 'invisible.' I would like my members be able to log into the site as normal, but these forums to not show up on the forum page at all. Then, I would like to be able to put some sort of graphic somewhere on the forum page that when clicked, a password box would show up and the person could input the password and the invisible forums would show up. Is there anything out there that would allow me to do this? Thanks for any help! |

Beta 14 is the latest release of the vB5 series (you posted in the forums for vB5 support).

Thread moved to 3.x area.
Well, you can make the forums not show up by setting their Display Order to 0. And, you may password protect them by setting the "Forum Password" in the Forum Manager area. But, to get them to show up when they are logged in is going to be tricky because I think you would need to look at cookies in order to see who is logged in to the forum and who isn't. Why not just make it so only a certain usergroup may view the forum and have the users need to apply to be a member of the usergroup? |
