please can someone guide me on template caching

each time i remove my own products the template stays and is not removed

Are the templates being installed by a product XML file?

If yes, did you edit them after they were installed? From what I recall, vB won't delete a customized (edited) template. I could be wrong about that though.

1 ) yes its installed via product.xml
2) its not edited after, and is highlighted red after product removal

Template should be removed when product is uninstalled.
Is the product field set correctly for the template?
