3.8.5 Thumbs Up / Post Thank You issues
I'm trying to get either the Post Thank You Hack 7.7 or the Thumbs Up Mods working on my 3.8.5 board.
Everything installs fine and works but only on the first post. I have worked on the settings of both mods with no luck whatsoever. Here's the Thumbs Up mod setting and here's the Post Thank You Hack 7.7 setting I'v e tried setting them on or off, on mod at a time, default style, custom style. I've exhausted all the options I could think of. Does anyonew know if this is a known bug in 3.8.5 or do I have something screwy on my site ? Or worst case, I'm just doing it wrong... |

Questions/Problems regarding modifications/styles need to be asked in the modification/style thread. That is where the support for modification/style is - not out here in the main forums. Please note that if a modification/style is unsupported (or even if it says it is supported), you may be on your own if you chose to install it.

Thanks Lynn.
I have posted in a couple of other places but now that I have managed to get 2 separate Mods to behave the same way in the default style and a 3rd party style, I can only assume it's something to do with the core. That's why I posted here. I also tried to find the 3.8.5 -> 3.8.6 changelog to see if there something mentioned that might explain what I am seeing but unfortunately it looks like that changelog is no longer available. |

Just because a mod does something wrong in both the default and custom style doesn't mean it isn't a modification issue. If it is fine with the modification turned off, but not fine with the modification turned on, then it is a modification problem. It could also be some problem between the mod and another mod. But, since it isn't anything in the default style, then it is a modification issue.

Like I said, it was when I saw 2 different mods behave the same way that I posted here. That would indicate that it wasn't an issue with the mod(s) in question.
Anyway, I've managed to track down the culprit and as you mentioned in your last post, it's a conflict with another Mod, vBRecipe :: Recipe Database System. I paid for the mod so I am reaching out to the developer now to see if he can help. Thanks. |
