Default AdminCP issues

I am having issues with my admin account. It was incorrectly changed and is no longer an admin account (don't ask long story)

I've tried tools.php to reset the admin access but when I do I get a Database Error.

Then I get the email message as follows:

Database error in vBulletin :

Invalid SQL:
SELECT * FROM usergroup WHERE usergroupid = 6 AND (adminpermissions & );

MySQL Error : You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near ')' at line 1

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does the administrator usergroup (usergroupid 6) still exist? You can always go into the database and manually change your usergroupid for your admin account.

How do i check if it still exists?
Sorry very green about all of this.

I've been searching the forums all day and I'm sorry I'm still lost.

I can use the tools.php but can not use admincp
I do not know how to manually update the database or where to even find the database that would allow me to reset my admin back to admin. they are now with a primary usergroup of 'registered' I believe and no admin privs.

Like I said I keep searching for information on how to do this but keep getting threads that involve using the admincp to fix issues which I can't access. And database threads are mostly in reference to moving databases or setting them up in config.php

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

If you have already searched and found out how to do it via tools.php and that did not work, then I think all other posts you will find will be like mine telling you to change it manually via phpMyAdmin. Do you have access to phpMyAdmin? If so, then that is what I would use to change it. If you do not have access to your database at all using any tool, then I don't know what I would suggest.

Do you have ticket support? If so, put in a ticket.

One thing you might try: when running tools.php, under the "Datastore Cache" section, choose "Bitfield Cache". Then try the restore admin access again.

thank you so much

Here's where I am:

I tried the bitfield cache, it make no difference

I did educate myself some and do have phpmyadmin which I then went into the usergroups and found that 6 does exist, I then went into users and found my admin's id and made sure both user group was 6 and display group id is 0

I then went back to login and it didn't show me as admin. I tried the tools again and got the same error as above.

is there anything in the config file that would have changed that I need to look at or anything in another database?

As for a ticket will they still help me if I purchased the software almost 10 months ago? I received a response before that I was past the point of getting help.

And now I have this across the top of my forum:

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in [path]/includes/class_bootstrap.php(426) : eval()'d code on line 1

--------------- Added [DATE]1345605114[/DATE] at [TIME]1345605114[/TIME] ---------------

OMG I just was able to get into my admincp !!!!

BUT I still have that Warning message at the top of the forum

K found the plug in causing it and bidding this thread adieu - thanks again.
