Sorting forum threads doesn't work
Hi,
I am trying to sort all the forums threads by the time of posting the thread. So I selected 'Sort by last thread' and Order 'Desending'. It works only on some users and at my profiles (2 profiles) it it sorted reversely. can that be? |

So, you went into Forum Mananger > edited every single forum > set Default Sort Field to "Thread Start Time" (there is no "Sort by Last Thread") and Default Sort Order to "Descending" - every forum?

How about a link to a couple of forums on your site where it is not working.
Did you also ask those users who it is not working for to clear their cache and cookies for the site? |

That is a thread. If you followed the instructions in my post #2, then that just sets the order for the forumdisplay page, not the showthread page (which you linked to). The order of the posts in a thread is set by the user in their own Settings > General Settings > Thread Display Mode. They should set it to Linear - Oldest First to have the first post always show as Post #1.

You may change it in Maintenance > Execute SQL Query and you will see a query to see them all to Linear and set them all to Oldest First.
