CMS article preview too long
I am having trouble with the article preview text length of two of my posts. The preview of these two posts is 3-4 times as long as the limit set in the options.
The preview length of all other articles (100+) works just fine. When I change the preview length in the settings, the preview text length changes as expected. The two problem posts always stay the same length. Is there something I am missing? |

Did the users use a Preview Break in the article? If so, that determines the length of the preview.

There is no preview break in the article.
The XML seems to be well formed too, and nothing special. In fact, if I copy the pagetext field from "*_cms_article" into a host article on my test instance (same VB version), generation of the preview works flawlessly. Moving the text into another article entry on the production machine does not work. The preview remains too long. Are there any settings other than the preview length in this area? I traced the code. Nothing caught my eye. Thanks for the tip about the preview break. I inserted one. The preview is now the correct length, but that only hides the bug. |

I've never heard of this bug. The only other thing I can think of is some bbcode in the article causing an issue.

What is the preview break code? I have this same issue.
I will answer my own question: [ PRBREAK ][ /PRBREAK ] |
