Correct setting for forum subdir home?
Hi,
I'm setting up a site for a friend but am a vB newb. We just want the forum to default to www.example.com/forums/ as we are using Wordpress in the root, so have set it up to install in a forums subdir of public_html. However, when I installed a test version (vB Suite), there is a doubling of the folders where the forum home ends up being www.example.com/forums/forum.php, which is cool, but other forums are www.example.com/forums/forums/31-example-name (when mod rewrite seo urls are enabled). I'm thinking maybe this is because it's a "suite", so that the forum defaults as another level down or something? I've tried to set the forum dir manually in the options after the fact on the test site, but it doesn't change anything. So now I'm doing the new install to go live, how can I make sure that it isn't structured with redundant "forums" directory? In the setup, do I set it to: BB URL: www.example.com/forums Home URL: www.example.com ...or will this just replicate the problem? Or do I use the override / redirects or something? I'm guessing it's quite simple but am a bit too new at this! cheers, Kurt. |
