I have yet to hear of one for 4.x.x.
vb4 come standard with allowing images to be uploaded directly to post & there are user galleries that come default. |

I've been looking for a good option as well. Members on some of my clients forums and my own tend to use the url option for images all the time using image hosting sites. Many times these image hosting sites remove the image after a certain amount of time and then the sites end up with a bunch of broken and missing images.
I changed the phrasing a bit on the add an image phrases to try to encourage members to upload instead of posting images by the url but the best option here would be to offer an image hosting option that saves the image right on my server so I know the images will be there for as long as I live. Seeing as this is an old post has there been any advances on this front? |

Not really sure how this relates. Google Plus is not really meant for image hosting as it offers no features at all really. I mean if Google Plus is the plan then why not use FB or any one of the other million image hosting sites?
The object here I believe is to have one that is compatible with Vbulletin. My goal though is to host images right on my site and make it easy to have members do so. I do not believe having to rely on any image hosting site is good for any site that has images as a major feature of the site. |

Thanks for trying but that is just a gallery really and there are many of those already built for Vbulletin. It is also already possible to host images onto Vbulletin using the built in gallery system or the attachment system.
I am not speaking for the op but in my case I want to tie in with the posting system so that if a member has an image to post they can easily use the attachment option and host the image on my site easily. I suppose in my case the trick would be trying to make it easy enough where they will use my server instead of an external image host. I have literally hundreds if not thousands of broken images on one of my sites that goes back to 2005. I am thinking of the long term here now. Apparently it is just so easy for members to enter a url when posting images. Ideally it would be great if they could post any image url and automatically the image would be placed on my server and hosted from there without the member having to do anything. I know there is an import mod but it does not seem to work well with certain image hosts. Thanks for taking the time to reply. |
