About the Social Group for vbulletin

I have heard from a lot of people that the groups.php(Social Group) of vbulletin is still dangerous to use , is this true? If it is how would i fix it because my members wanted to create their own social groups and since i disabled the Groups they aren't able to.Thanks in advance.
Version :- 4.1.9
