New Posting Features - Dynamically Show Similar Threads On Thread Creation

This mod will dynamically show similar threads as you type the title of your thread using AJAX.

Installation:
Import product-show_similar_threads.xml via your admin control panel, and you're done.
There are no settings as of this moment.

Change Log:

• 1.0 Initial release.
• 1.1 Similar threads are now shown without a delay. Also, instructions for manual template edits have been added, as well as an option to disable the automatic ones.

I've updated the mod to serve jQuery from Google's CDN, as vB just uses hardcoded file names pre 4.1.11.

It's always good to change up the titles of posts, also a good search tool and may increase post in another thread.

How about adding usergroup permissions
and usercp setting allow the user to turn On or Off
Once the usergroup permission is set have an option for the default to be On or Off

Improvement would be to have something similar for Blogs

Are you supporting this mod fully?

The reason being I had virtually the same mod as this installed but once I installed the Auto Fill Tag modification the check for similar thead mod I had installed stopped working

Anyway, I have just installed this and I can confirm this one also does not work if you have this auto tag filler mod installed:

So is there any way to make your new mod work together with the Auto tag fill mod?

As it stands at the moment, the Auto tag fill mod wins hands down for the one to keep, but I would also like to use this one if it worked together with it

Hmm, what's the logic behind having usergroup permissions for this mod?

As for the blogs - the point in having similar threads shown when creating threads is to prevent users from asking questions that have already been asked. I believe this is not the with blogs, so I don't really think it's appropriate, wouldn't you agree?

It actually works fine for me. Which version of vB are you running?

I just installed this and it didn't work, same as the older version of this mod I had.
I then disabled the auto tag fill mod and then this one worked fine, but then as soon as i put back the auto tag fill mod, this mod stopped working again.

Oh well, funny old thing the vB stuff.
I have posters telling me my Country Flag online mod doesn't work on their forums, yet others say it works fine and it always has worked fine for me.

Just throwing some ideas out there

I case my edit was missed

usercp setting allow the user to turn On or Off

or how about a button icon near the title

Edit: threadinfohead blockhead for Similar Threads might be a better location.

Yeah, I'll probably add an option to let users turn it off, and an option to let admins not let users to turn it off.
