auto-adjusting forum width based on size of browser window
I am not looking for anyone to go ahead and do this for me, I am more interested if anyone can point me to thread where this mod has been done. I don't want to reinvent the wheel if I can avoid it. My search of the forum yielded nothing.
I want the width of my vB4 forums to be fixed but different for my users who have small monitors. So maybe three different forum widths depending on the browser window width. I want to use jquery to detect the browser window width for its bullet-proof cross-browser capabilities. Surely this mod has been done before. Anyone know where I can find something like this? Thanks in advance for any point in the right direction. ps. Background: I recently upgraded my forum and increased the doc_width stylevar to 1080px. But it turns out many of my members have 19" monitors and are complaining the site is too wide. But I can't stand the look of the forum smaller than that on my wide 28" monitor. I want to try to get the best of both worlds here. |
