Server Load Problem

My webhost has suspended my service without warning.

Here is what I have been told the problem is. I believe it has to do with some of the images that have been posted. My bandwidth and disk space are very low.


My website public_html/image.php' are creating too many requests to the server and utilizing heavy network/server resources. Due to this it impossible for other customers on the webservers to receive adequate download/web service.

You must remove the offending content, or redesign the site in such a manner that a limited requests will be accepted from your website to ensure that the accounts of other customers operating on the system also receive adequate service.

To revoke the suspension please contact us once you have completed the required changes or removed the contents causing server abuse.

Sounds like you need new hosting.

Suggestions? Dreamhost has started throttling our SQL connections for similar reasons.

I assume you are looking at forum/image.php. That appears to have something to do with your Human Verify (captcha) system. You might change to a different Human Verify option. My guess (and it's only a guess) is that some hacker system is trying to get every image in the Image option for analysis.

In cPanel go to Awstats and look at Hosts (top 25) and see where all the requests are coming from. If one is using a huge amount of bandwidth check it out. I doubt it's a member. If you can't find that IP for anyone, ban it.

I believe nerbert could be correct (in theory). Maybe a good idea to also look over any modifications that you have added that could be related to photos.

If you turn up with nothing, try using GD photo support and not Image Magic. Possible your host hasn't set that up right or there is some kind of server conflict to it.

If that doesn't work, you could disable re-captcha and use a Question & Answer system for human verification.

If you still have issues.... Seek a new host.
