Add users to social group?
Hello all,
Does anyone know of a way that as an Admin, I can simply add users to a social group (not a usergroup, but social group)? I run a game on my forums and we're in the "Playoffs" now and in order to be able to see the playoff game, the users have to be members of the playoff social group. (This was the only way we could restrict the game to the handful of people who made the playoffs, as the game utilizes social groups for this) I've invited all the users to join the group, but one thing that frustrates me about vBulletin's notification system is that even for people who come to the forum every day, they almost never see that they've got a notification waiting for them. As I understand, you only get a pop up for private messages, but nothing for any other type of notification. Rather than relying on them to see that little notification at the top of their screen, I'd rather just be able to assign them to the group automatically. Any ideas? |

There isn't anyway to do this through default vbulletin. You may, of course, go directly to the socialgroupmember table and change their status from type "invited" to "member".

ah, Lynne - thank you! I didn't know it'd be that easy to do that on the database-side. I'll do that.
