HELP With Installing Mods

OK so I know the basic mod installing with the XML everything. But There's alot of mods that require you to import the files to a UPLOAD FOLDER and ect. Im having issues with that, Like how do I find this "UPLOAD" folder??? Please help dealing with this is driving me crazy, wish they kept it simple like the XML files.

Example Issue:
1) Upload all of the files/folders in the UPLOAD/ folder to your Forum's ROOT
folder. Make sure that all files are being overwritten properly. Do not move
on to the next step until all files are transferred successfully!
2) Admin CP -> Manage Products -> Add/Import Product -> Select the
product-vbbux_vbplaza.xml file. Make sure to set Allow Overwrite to YES
before pressing Import.
