The [USML] Advanced WGO Options Version 1.0.0 allows you to allow or deny certain usergroups permission to view the different areas of the What's Going On section.
------------------ Features
------------------
Per usergroup, you may enable or disable:
What's Going On
Currently Active Users
Reputation amount
Upcoming Events
Today's Birthdays
Forum Statistics
Icon Legend
If all options (except for What's Going On are disabled, What's Going On (even if enabled) will not show up since there won't be anything to show)
Globally enable or disable [USML] Advanced WGO Options.
Please remember to click Mark as Installed if you use this modification.
Also, feel free to nominate this modification for the MOTM, and/or use the Donate link to show your appreciation in the time and effort put into this modification.
Just a quick note, if you have another modification that adds something to the WGO section that you'd like added to/integrated with this modification, let me know and I'll see what I can do.
I use to always have to really edit the foot to get things to work the way I wanted. Having to re-apply template edits is the slowest thing when upgrading. Modifications are easier, cause you can often track them down, but template edits gone wrong ..... Well it's not always so easy, cause you need to figure what edit is the cause and how is it conflicting.... No, modifications are so much easier most of the time.
Will this modification help with this problem?? If not, any suggestions on how to prevent certain usergroups from showing up on the who's online area?

Hi Folks,
I've got a problem on my forum where a troll is registering anywhere from 5-20 new names a day. Sometimes more. The usernames are always something obnoxious. The problem is this guy is using a proxy server and a different IP address every single time he visits the site.
He always uses a fake email address so I know who it is. My mod team and I think that that since he can't post, etc. as I've turned just about everything off for the usergroup "waiting for email confirmation" it appears he is getting his kicks from being listed in the "new members" section as well as the "who's online" as new registrations even if not approved show up in the who's online list. I've turned off the "new members registered today" mod, but the who's online thing is a problem.
I need to find a way to only list new registrations in the who's online that are approved. If I can do that I think this guy will take his ball and go play somewhere else. Any one know of a hack, mod, etc. or a way to solve this problem?
This mod won't prevent anyone from being listed in the wgo area, but it will prevent users from actually seeing the wgo area.
Hey,
Thanks for the great mod. I've installed it and it works good. I'm hoping the troll won't see himself anymore in the who's online area and gets bored. Hopefully he will disappear.

Yes I agree, Thank you HMBeaty and if you are looking for another idea the Statistics in the usercp...
Profile's About Me Statistics would be nice to choose who can see the different areas. And the side block's Current Activity would be a nice to have permissions. Some members just don't want everyone knowing where there are or where they have been.
Right now it's all template edits in regards to permissions and it's sometime times a pain at upgrade.
Thanks again for the Advanced What's Going On Options.
