Problem with user albums after server move

I have just moved my site to a new server

I am now having a problem with user album photos not displaying

The thumbnails display but when you click on one you don't see the image, just some text (probably the alt text link)

Also I have a plugin 'Featured Album Pics' and that is displaying maybe a third of the images, the rest just show the profile name.

My images are stored in the file system - I did a full backup and restore of files and database to the new server just before i moved

I suspect this may be something to do with the path to the stored images. Can someone advise on that, and tell me where the file path is specified

OK I can explain this s abit better now which probably means a quicker answer

I moved my site to a new dedicated server

I thought it was acting in an unpredictable way but after clearing my browser cache I can clearly see that:

None of the album pics or attachments are now displaying. You just get the alt text

The album thumbnails are all showing ok

The images themselves are in the file system, I suppose the thumbnails must be in the database. I copied all files/folders from my old server preserving the file structure.

I am confident the problem is that the file path (not the url) to the images has changed and that's the cause of the problem.

I had to change the forum path to get the site working again after the move for the same reason

I'm just struggling to find where to set the file path for images/attachements

Oh reading through some posts - what does the rebuild thumbnails do exactly? Do I need to do that after moving server, as thumbnails are working OK

Oh I just got attachments back by changing the path for them in 'attachements storage type' in the ACP

It's just the album pictures now...
