How do I make these post icons go away without disabling users from selecting the option to use a post icon?

All of these annoying post icons automatically appear on everyone of my threads/posts after updating from VB 3.8.6 to VB 4.1.7

AdminCP > Settings > Options > Thread Display Options (showthread) > Show Default Post Icon
