Recent Threads Widget - Show last reply
I would like to find a way to have the recent threads widget show the latest reply instead of the original post.
I know that the recent posts widget does this, but it will put duplicates of the same thread in which will take up the whole widget block display instead of showing a variety of threads. I searched and found several topics asking for this same thing but with no replies: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...threads+widget https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...threads+widget https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthrea...threads+widget |

Have you tried just changing it from thread.firstpostid to thread.lastpostid in the query in packages/vbcms/widget/recentthreads.php ?

<font color="DarkOrchid">I'm also curious about changing some of the things for the New Forum Posts and Forum Threads for the Forum Block. I'm not really sure where to find the code so I can see about editing it. But if someone could help me edit the code to change a few things that would be great to.
New Forum Posts - Away to stop it from duplicating the same thread - Remove Post Prevrew - Just make it show the title of the thread and the member that post Forum Threads (This is more of what I, but there's still a couple of changes) - Removing the avatar - Just want it to show the title of the thread and the member that post. All of the extra information like the number of replies, date and time, and forum its location is a bit to much information.</font> |

New Forum Posts - you'd need to edit the coe to stop it from duplication the same thread - /packages/vbcms/widget/recentposts.php. To remove the post preview and only show the title and author, you would need to modify the template itself.
Forum Threads - you would need to modify the template itself. To find the template to modify, do this - vboptions > General Settings > Add Template Name in HTML Comments > set to Yes . Then go back to your page and view the source code and you will see the name of the template called around your part of the code. (Sometimes the template is the one mentioned at the very top of the page source.) |

<font color="DarkOrchid">Thanks, that really helped a lot, but I wish I was better at editing codes. I think that's a bit much over my head. Do you think someone would be willing to make steps on exactly how to do this and which part of the template to edit? Make it into a new modification thread.</font>

You could post in the Modifications Request unpaid or Request for Paid Modifications if you want. Or, have to tried a search to see if it's already out there?

I have tried searching 'recent activity' 'recent threads' 'hottest threads' 'active threads' with no luck.
Does anyone know of a central CMS widget that will display Active Topics? For example, it displays the title of the most current thread, # of posts in the thread, latest post time and author. New replies bump a thread back to the top of the list. Is there anything like that ? ^ I've been searching all over. Something similar to this but working for 4.1.10 Warm Regards, Marc |
