Never made a backup of vbulletin - ever
Believe it or not, I have never made a backup of my vBulletin, basically because I never understood how. So here's my question...
I've seen various programs like MySQLDumper and others that do some sort of backup. What I want to know is why can't I just FTP the files to my local hard drive using FileZilla or similar? Does this work for making a backup? or is there other things that also have to happen? Secondly, is there any instruction for someone that hasn't a clue about making backup? ie instructions that are totally written for someone that doesn't know what the heck their doing? It's funny because I can install mods, but that's only because they tell you word-for-word on how to do it. Example: Find this code, and place this underneath. |

Do you have access to your database through phpMyAdmin? If so, see this - Backing Up The Database via phpMyAdmin
