In other words: this app will not only promote your forum, but also will promote other forums to your members. Many of those forums belong to Internet Brands.
It is unclear to me if Internet Brands will have access to the user data that this app mines, but it seems likely.
In general I think that the idea of promoting your site to facebook members is good, but the above looks like data mining by IB/vBS.

It only has access to the stuff you can see in any Facebook app you start. Basic stuff. You can start an app on Facebook yourself and see what you get. It isn't much. Certainly not enough for the ominous "data mining".
