Try disabling your modifications/plugins and see if you still have this problem.
Note: To temporarily disable the plugin system, edit includes/config.php and add this line right under <?php PHP Code:

I did as you said once the plugins are displayed edit button works , weird ! I say weird as I have not made any changes to any plugins for over 1 year and this issues started not more than 2 week back So what is the solution how do i identify which plugin is causing the problem I have like 30 of them any better solution than trial and error method ? |

Trial and Error is the only way to figure it out. Turn them all off, see if the editor works, then turn them on one-by-one and see which one breaks the editor.

Actually I already thought of that as a probable way to debug and I disabled all under Manage Products (all installed products) as shown in the screenshot but that did not help the "edit Post" and "reply with quote" buttons still did not start working . So where else could be the problem ?

You also need to disable all Plugins under the Plugin Manger tab.

I do not know what that plugin is. Did you not install it? If you didn't, then my guess is you were hacked.

You should look through your access_logs from around the time you started having problems and see if you can see what they did. You should also talk to your host about this. There is no date in the database for when a plugin was installed or changed. You may look the pluginid up in the database and then look through your Control Panel logs to see when that plugin was accessed/added/changed.
