Previewing template without making it active

Hi, I recently upgraded a forum to 4.1.3. I'm having troubles previewing a template without making it active. When I try to preview a template by clicking the link from the admin side (ie; forum.php?styleid=30), it shows up all distorted with all of the images from the active template being displayed. Is there a hack or something special I need to do to rectify this?

For some it requires you to enable users to switch styles, I've noticed that myself however only on certain sites and I still yet to track down why. Do that and now you can test however everyone else can now see that style if they choose so in the style selector drop-down in the bottom left of the forum.
