Need help with static page and custom url
This is Neil Ghuman with Motorcycle Talk. I currently have 3 forums total. I have www.motorcycletalk.com with has VBSEO installed and Vbulletin Advanced 4.14 which includes the CMS and Blog features and then I have www.motorcycletalk.ca and www.motorcycle.co.uk which just have the basic installation of Vbulletin installed. I have a number of different questions that I need help with but here are a few. I would first like to make a page called www.motorcyclemarket.com/privacy so how would I accomplish this? Is this a mod? Is this a static page? I would like to retain the header and the footer and look of the forum including the "whose online feaure" but I am lost. I have tried a few posts from this forum but need some sense of direction. Everyone here has been very helpful so far and thank you in advance for any help you can provide. Looking forward to a detailed step by step response. Thank you.

Create a static page via a custom template ( search for misc.php and custom_ ). There should be good tutorials out there.
Then base your work on the FORUMHOME template and delete those parts which you do not want. In short, you want to keep the top until {vb:raw navbar}, then add your code, then at some point "wgo block" (what's going on) will show up, from then on keep everything. then you will end up with a link like this motorcyclemarket.com/misc.php?do=page&template=.... Add a vbseo rewrite rule for that url pointing to motorcyclemarket.com/privacy That should do the trick. |
