I'd like user profile fields (in a category) only available for a specific user group, but viewable by everyone. How can I go about doing this?

I don't understand what you mean. You only want some users to have user profiles? So, if user A wasn't allowed to have one, then if someone tried to go look at it, then they would be told... it doesn't exist? they aren't allowed to see it?

I meant to ask how to make certain user profile fields available only to users in a specific user group. If this isn't available in the stock install, are there any mods available? Seems like something that a lot of forums could use.
