Hi all,
This isn't nearly as complicated as the full e-mail discussion system proposed in another thread, since I don't care about forum interaction via POP3. For just one of my forums, I would like to send to those who I have manually selected to receive notification of new THREADS not just notification of a new thread but the entire thread starter itself. Would a hack for this be easy to make? Thanks for your help! |

You could just create a specific style for that forum and add $message to the email_notify template.

I see how to edit the normal e-mail style that people who subscribe to a thread receive, but if they don't subscribe and I manually add their e-mail addresses to the admin control panel (Forums--Edit), they get a message in this format:
Hello, XXXX has just posted in the XXXXXX forum of pocketnow.com Discussion under the title of XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX. This thread is located at [link here] -- Where is this template located? |

That would be the email_moderator template.

Is it possible to change the Subject of that e-mail sent?

In what way? If you want a standard subject title that's used all the time, just edit the template to say whatever you like. If you're looking for a dynamic change, then it really depends on what you want.

Perhaps I'm being too vague. In the e-mail that is sent to all manually selected individuals, they get an e-mail with:
Source Subject Body I can edit the Body through email_moderators, but Subject cannot be edited from where I see. If the Subject makes no sense or unimportant, the e-mail will be deleted. I need to make the subject meaningful. |

I think you'd have to modify the appropriate .php file. I'm not sure which one - you'd have to search for the appropriate phrase ('New Post/Thread Notification'?)
Depending on what you want it to say, this could be an easy change or a very difficult one. |

I searched the PHP files in /forums directory, but found nothing. Could you please point me to the correct file?
Thanks for your patience. |
