CMS Recent Articles Widget to show Thumbnails

I've been searching for this for a very long time, I'm either missing it or there's not a solution, either way can somebody help me pleaseeeeee

Is there a way to add thumbnails to the recent articles widget on the front page of my forum?

If so can I have a dummies guide please,

I'm sure I'm not the only person that would really appreciate this.
