What does this Mod do?

Basically, it allows you to advertise forum events, other sites, causes, etc., in an automatic, random and easy to update fashion. Simply log-in to the ACP and you will be presented with an easy to navigate means of adding, modifying or deleting new images and text to be shown.

Features:

• Easy display of the advertisements. e.g Forumhome, navbar, showthread.
• Easy addition of new advertisements.
  • Upload Images to your server under /images/.
  • Verifies file is an image.
  • Max file size setting.
  • Create a directory under /images/ if wished.
  • Directly Link to an image's URL.
  • URL checking for image link validity.
• Randomly pulls advertisement from database.
• Advertisements display linkable images.
• Advertisements have the option to include a HTML enabled message.
• Advertisement titles and alt attributes allow for SEO optimization.

Installation:

1. Extract the contents of the zip file.
2. Upload the contents of the "upload" folder to your forum root.
3. Enter your AdminCP and go to Plugins & Products > Manage Products > [Add/Import Product]
4. Import Product: product-bbes_slider.xml

I do plan on expanding this modification a lot. As for now, I don't have much time to dedicate to this so don't expect much updates. Please feel free to make suggestions and report errors. I don't think I've seen a vB Modification like before so hopefully I'm not reinventing the wheel.

Probably. It'd be a setting the user could turn on and off since it would only do good with a decent amount of advertisements. I also plan on adding instances of it; in that you can have more than one advertiser showing on your board and each could show different advertisement. Good for individual forum advertising or multiple advertisements.

i get this error when i click on settings:

Not Found

The requested URL /forum/admincp/slider.php was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

Sorry for the late reply everybody. I assumed vB.org would notify me when people commented on my own mod...

Long time no reply. The reason I haven't updated this, at all, is because DBTech has released vBSlider which just blows this out the water.

I recommend anyone, if anyone, who is using this mod to switch to vBSlider since it's so much better.
