Unknown MySQL server host

This evening my forum goes Tango Uniform. When people try to connect, it returns:

Database error
The database has encountered a problem.
Please try the following:
Load the page again by clicking the Refresh button in your web browser.
Open the uncensoredfreespeech.nfshost.com home page, then try to open another page.
Click the Back button to try another link.
The uncensoredfreespeech.nfshost.com forum technical staff have been notified of the error, though you may contact them if the problem persists.

We apologise for any inconvenience.



and what it emails me is this every time a browser is refreshed on the website:

I have read some info here and think it may be something to do with my service host ( nearlyfreespeech.com ) but i cant imagine what. I set this forum up a couple years ago and the database service is only restarted once in a blue moon.

there havent been any config changes to the board other than forums added/moved/removed and the same for users.

looking back at my emails this seemed to have happened before but there were like only one or two emails about this incident prior and went away before i even noticed.



anyone concur or disagree with my thought that its prolly a temporary server issue?

it was fixed when i got up.

Is your DB hosted on your server?

Is your DB hosted on another server by the host?

From what i see as the db server name ufs.db, its hosted on an alternate DB server, if thats the case, there is nothing you can do to fix it, its a issue the host has to resolve.

If this issue persists, then its time for a new host.

I have a similar problem with my vb4.1.4, all if working fine.. the maintence is complete, but for example, when i mod a post or thread, or change the browser all is dead. (with older vb version it´s never hapens to my)

It´s imposible to do nothing.

- Internet is ok - can browse others webs
- Host is ok - can access using cpanel to to mysql and see the database
- repair option is ok - Nothing to repair

and just wait some minuts.. and all is working again..

You need to post the actual database error in order for us to help with the issue. You also should start your own thread about your own issue, not post in another thread about it.
