Thinking about upgrading to VB4 - few questions
I'm thinking about upgrading my forum to VB4, i have a large forum so i've held back as i don't want to mess it up. I've heard lots of bad things about VB4 and i know a lot of people have held off, are there any reasons why i shouldn't upgrade?
On top of my forum i have a large website, it's currently bridged with VB using custom code, i want to shift my website over to a CMS that can be integrated with vbulletin. I'm tired of having separate applications for gallery, forum, website, blog, etc.. and then trying to bridge them all. I found something called jFusion which claims to bridge Joomla and VB... does anyone know of anything else that might be better? has anyone tried it? I just dont want to spend £130 on an upgrade for Vb to decide it's not going to work for me. |

I upgraded from 3.8 to 4.0 and am very happy with it. I don't care what kind of software it is, you always read horrible things about the latest version. I take it with a grain of salt. vB4 is very nice looking and works like a charm, and the CMS portion is super nice. With a bit of tweaking you can customize to your liking. I see no reason not to upgrade.

I went with vb4 with cms so I didn't have to bridge. I wanted to get a site up quickly and have everything integrated. The cms takes a bit of getting used to, especially if you are already familiar with wordpress. It's definitely not wordpress. I'm making it work though.
