So when normal users (Excluding Mods, admins) view the 'View New Posts', it displays admin only/mod threads in the search but they arn't clickable due to user permissions.

My question is, how do we make it so that when regular users do a search, it won't display threads they shouldn't see?

I already tried editing forums, modifying the Forum Listing Options & forum permissions.

Awesome. That solved the search engine part.

Now my other conflict is I have a box on the side that displays recent threads. Do I have to go into the skin and modify that?

I don't think they'll show up there with that option off. Do they still show up in that box?

Yeah they do :/

Then yes, you would have to modify that, though I'm not sure why they would show up there....
