VooStyles
Just wondering if anyone knows Victor from VooStyles. If anyone knows how to get in touch with him.
Thanks, Rich --------------- Added [DATE]1304395991[/DATE] at [TIME]1304395991[/TIME] --------------- Nobody has heard of him? --------------- Added [DATE]1304448249[/DATE] at [TIME]1304448249[/TIME] --------------- He did a style for a client of mine. I am a developer. He showed me the demo and it is amazing but I have not been able to contact him now for nearly an entire week. I do not know what happened but if anyone knows him or works with him please let me know. I just need him to release the work he did. Thanks, Rich |

Rich,
I haven't had any communication with Victor for 6 days either. It has happened for longer before. I would assume he'll get back to you in good time. |

Good time would have been the time he promised..
I hired him as a sub contractor to do a style, supposedly his "team" was busy with other projects and it took them forever. Finally he finishes and shows me a demo so I pay him the balance and bam..I hear nothing in days. I have a client waiting. Does anyone have a phone number for him or an email for anyone on his supposed team? He does excellent work from what I saw with the demo but I cannot understand this treatment. The work means nothing if I cannot use it. |

Does anyone else know this guy? I really hate to file a claim when he already did the work.
Thanks --------------- Added 05 May 2011 at 12:40 --------------- Quote:
-- Just an update-He seemed like a nice guy and it looked like the work he was doing was good but I have not heard from him since the 27th of April and he has full payment. I just escalted my claim with PayPal and I really hate to do it. If anyone knows Victor please tell him to contact me fast while I can still cancel this claim if I have too. Thanks |

RichieBoy67,
Unfortunately I am in the same boat as you - the last message I received from him said something about the local datacentre but his "team" were working on fixing it and they would be able to start my style next week with the demo etc due in two weeks. So paid him, it's now been the two weeks when a demo is due and have had no contact from him despite numerous e-mails etc - I would hate to think that we come here and see portfolios and make a decision on building our sites and for someone like this on this site scams us. At this current point in time I would have to say to everyone to avoid doing business with voostyles I am out $500 at the moment, my last contact came on 27th april as above and now nothing. If nothing by the end of this week I will escalate my claim on PayPal and do my best that everyone knows he is a scammer. |

So sorry bro..
I am out a large chunk of money too and what is worse is that I have a client who has been waiting and Victor knew this. I do not believe anything he told me now about hos whole team and him being a project leader etc.. A whole team of designers and developers and not one of them can send an email? People like this should be banned from VBulletin and their VB license should be voided as well.. |

It is a shame when you think about it - you come here to look for people because you hope that at least here they will know what you do, Victor gave me testimonials and portfolios to look at which is what they said you should do and no absolutely no reply - it's a shame.
I mean this guy should be banned from here there is no way in hell he has a team, otherwise i would send these guys back to internet 101 where it teaches them to send emails. --------------- Added [DATE]1304992694[/DATE] at [TIME]1304992694[/TIME] --------------- UPDATE Still no contact so have filed dispute with paypal. |

Hmm gents...
I don't think a entire thread on this, whether it be a general inquiry of "Is he still alive?" or "Has he cheated me?" is warranted because we simply are not receiving his side of the story only your sides. I feel it's best in the future if you do this: 1. Post a paid request, even if you know the coder post it in the paid request. Why? Did you know your allowed to give feedback there? You can give feedback certainly just no rants or attempts at completely ruining the persons credibility but point being that's the place to provide constructive feedback where others can benefit from making up their own decision on how you were treated. 2. Testimonials and Portfolios can me made easily, did you actually visit these sites or even go so far as to use the "Contact Us" link and simply ask about his services? Just because it says "Coder" or "Designer" or "Coder/Designer" under their name here does not mean we endorse them or that they are that, a simple release of a graphic can grant you "Designer" and a simple template edit listed as a modification can grant them the title "Coder" so you truly need to do your homework and research this individual or company providing services... of course some of the work might be over your head however your more then capable of doing research into the person your about to hire. 3. Excuses, be sure it's something simple... if you find the person explaining in detail then IMO run in the opposite direction. The only excuse you ever hear from me is "I'm swamped" or "Extremely Busy" and that should be all imo otherwise whatever "Reason" they give you is simply a excuse in hiding. Death's, sick kids, other things may seem acceptable but how many of their friends do you think commit suicide each month? One for every client? . 4. Pay up to HALF up front, why more? That's perfectly acceptable, sensible, and cannot be argued as it's meeting someone half way. I prefer 100% up front payment however I can understand the hesitation in others but from a "Coders" point of view, I myself have also been cheated a few times by owners, so payment up front or at least half is a requirement for me. Basically no matter what, you should not be going through something like this. Now I hope that this can be explained and no I'm not requiring a explanation I just felt the need to post that so perhaps others can benefit from some of my tips, I'm actually going to report the thread and see what the other staff members say about this as it should have been feedback on a paid request nothing more IMO even if your trying to contact him etc. Sincerely, Mike |

The main reason I posted this thread was to try and find this person.
The reason he has no side is because he has disappeared. I only paid the blance of what I owed after he showed me a working demo which was weeks and weeks past deadline.. Once I gave him the balance he disappeared. Now how website is even down. Don't ask me how he showed me a working demo but the style we chose has been on other sites as well so perhaps he used the source code. To be honest, I am completely baffled. His PayPal account was verified and I was under the impression that he finished the work. I have not heard from since the 27th of April I believe. Thanks for your tips but it is just common sense. Still there has to be some level of trust no matter what precautions you take. I am sure in time he will come back here with a brand new username and he will again be hitting up the paid requests.. He talks a good game and I never thought he would burn me.. And I sure would like to hear his side of things while he is sending me a refund.. Thanks |
