Default Layout Design question-please help

Hi,

I am trying to change my layout from the present display at www.aorticdissection.com/forums to look like this forum, with the ability to have the side colums. http://www.vbseo.com/forums/

I have spent the last 30 minutes trying to figure out where to change it, I had done it abouut 6 months ago, but for some reason, can not remember where you do the change to fix it.

It must be in the templates, you probably created a new template and then use it. but.. need help please.

Thanks,
Brian

depends on how you plan to realize it. If you need table layouts, you might want to check the navbar and footer template, because that's where the forum wrapper gets opened and closed.

if you want to use divs, the footer-template might be enough to add your box into the right place, the rest is fairly easy using css.

Thanks... The way I changed it last time a layman could do it w/o having to do any coding. I just selected something like how I wanted the side bar to look? Like Recent Post, or then most frequent posts. etc.

Take care,
Brian

Huh?

That would be: AdminCP > Settings > Options > Forum Sidebar and Block Options > Enable Forum Sidebar : Yes/No

Create Forum Blocks link is also in the same option!

That is not it either. Go back and read my original request please. I can't believe that this is so difficult of a fix. It should be relatively easy to change the forum layout to have a right column on the display, like the example I reference above.
Please there has to be someone on this forum that can figure this simple request out?
Thanks,
Brian

It is a default vB feature that you can enable at: Admin CP -> Settings -> Forum Sidebar and Block Options

You should add the blocks at: Admin CP -> Forums & Moderators -> Forum Blocks Manager
