New users default to a specific usergroup?
On previous software, I had a usergroup created that newly registered users defaulted to that had limited permissions.
I've created a usergroup like that on my vb4 install, now how can I get the newly registered users to default to it? Thanks in advance. Gus/smallstreams.com |

All new users go to the Registered Usersgroup. You may write a promotion to move them from that group to another usergroup after x posts/y time/z rep.

Appreciate that mod link... I'm trying to abstain from too many mods to enable easier upgrades.
I have the new users moderated, and can just move them as I approve them. Oddly, I've used a number of the "free" forum apps for ten or twelve years, and all of them have this as an ACP option. Live and learn, I guess. Thus, I have a workaround to this lack of feature. No worries and thanks for both of your replies! |
