Hi,
I run a registration-only forum for an academic group. I have enabled vBulletin 4.1.2's Facebook functionality (such as the Like button) as I would like users to publish liked thread titles on their own Facebook profiles to promote the group to students who have not yet registered. In my 'Who's Online' page, I have noticed that there are multiple IP addresses which resolve to *.tfbnw.net trying to view threads but getting 'No Permission' messages. I have researched the tfbnw.net domain and have found that it belongs to Facebook, so I believe that Facebook's spider may be trying to access the forum to grab page titles and images for its links, but is being prevented from doing so. My question is this - how can I allow Facebook's spider (which comes from the hostname *.tfbnw.net) to access my forum as a guest so that it may retrieve the information that it needs? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |
