How Do I Put My Own Ads in vBulletin 4?
Just upgraded to vBulletin 4, and my most important thing is to get my ads running again. I used to do this via a plug-in which saved an ad off into a variable $printBanner and then included that in a template.
(I could just as easily import a PHTML file from outside.) Thus far I haven't had *any* luck with saving things to variables, preregistering them, or importing them with vb:raw. I'm going to try and go through that more slowly in the morning to figure out what I'm doing wrong. However, the one thing I totally can't figure out is how to import a variable/file/php-commands/or anything else into the ad system. I'd much prefer to use that rather than mucking with templates, as the latter always causes troubles down the road. Anyone have advice for how to do some or all of this? --------------- Added [DATE]1301424368[/DATE] at [TIME]1301424368[/TIME] --------------- Sitting down fresh, I was able to get things linked together correctly. But my main question remains: is there a way to import something into the ad system? preRegistering the variable to the template containing the ad section (e.g., navbar) doesn't seem to work. Is there some other magic incantation? |
