Extra Registration Fields (Address) / Membership Tracker

I wish to use vB for a Multi-Sport Club which has many existing members.

Upon registration I would like to ask them to give their Postal Address so we can use the User database as some sort of membership tracker..

Am I going the right way about this?

Is there a better alternative?

You can add as many custom fields you want by going to the Admin CP -> User Profile Fields -> Add a New Profile Field.

You can choose if it's required or not, and other options.
