Widget: Recent threads from invisible/usergroup specific forum

Hi all,

I'm looking for some advise, I need a widget which will show a all threads from a certain forum - This forum is invisible and only accessible by a certain usergroup (members) - I need unregistered (and above) to see the list of thread title but when they click they get a permissions error.

The main hurdle I have here is the fact that the forum is invisible, thus the inbuilt Recent Threads widget is a useless (as this requires the forums to be on show)

The second hurdle obviously is the permisisons side, I need unregistered users to see thread titles but deined message when the click on the link - its a look at what you could have won type scenario.
