buy & import service provided?

anyone here who can do it?

was referred here from the other vbulletin site to find someone who will import our forum for us.....

its a SMF 1.1.12 currently. about 200K posts, 12K members on a MYSQL database.

looking to purchase VB license and have it imported by someone who is quick and safe...

any help? recommendations?

It isn't hard. vB comes with a free import utility, Impex. I'd recommend trying it yourself in a test/development environment.

im as scared of doing this as losing all of our info to the stupid SMF crashes all the time..... would rather trust a pro to do it.

any pro's out there?

I posted yesterday about the same situation. I would like someone with some knowledge in importing to VB to do it for me, but I may just end up trying it myself later in the year. My forum isn't large at all yet with just 600 members and about 40,000 posts.

Its straight forward as long as you remember to backup your databases prior.
I did a IPB to VB last year with 10,000 members.

Once you have imported your users / posts stats you would just rebuild your stats from the admincp and edit / move your imported threads / posts to the correct forums

never attempted ANYTHING like this... still reading and reading..... still way to nervous to try it...

cant believe people dont do this part as a service for money.

if its really that easy figured people would jump all over it.

I believe you should submit your inquiry for paid service at Request Paid Services after you become licensed owner of vBulletin and someone should definitely be able to assist you

yeah i cant go to those pages or see those until i have a license......

but didnt want to buy the package be out the cash and then not be able to get someone to install it correctly...

then your at the mercy of being hosed at every turn. LMAO

What did you end up doing with your SMF forum? did you do it yourself or have someone do it? I'm about to go the same route so I'd like to see how yours turned out.
