widget code
Is there a way to get the code for a widget published on a website? It's not openly downloadable. I'd like to copy it and change some features.

It's just php, so you should be able to take the code and put it on a webpage (maybe make a few syntax changes). What do you mean it's not openly downloadable?

I've gone one the sites where you request the code and it gives you a link to cut and paste into the widgets on vbulletin. I'd like to use widgets similar to these( http://www.daveramsey.com/arc/web-resources/ ), but don't know how to get there from here. Thanks for your reply.

I guess the answer is yes and no. I'm not familiar with intellectual property rights on the internet, but looking at many of the posts here and elsewhere my impression is that many people say they'd like their site to have attributes of others and the solution is to copy code and adapt it to your own needs. I don't plan on using the code exactly. I'd like to use it as a starting point and make changes so it fits my site. Am I wrong here?
