Exclude Forums from What's new
Hi,
I am searching for a way to remove 2 forums from the WHAT's NEW listing for all users. The addons I found which can do this offer a lot more functions I don't need and I have not seen a thread describing how to do it. I do not want to have any option or setting, a simple plugin which is doing this for all groups and users is fine. Can someone give me a hint here? /Greetings jluerken |

This has been posted quite a few times:
To exclude forums in the New Posts/What's New button, you may add "&exclude=xx" or "&exclude=xx,yy,zz" (separate the forumids by commas) to the end of the New Posts/What's New search.php url in the navbar template.... ie. "/forums/search.php?do=getnew&exclude=xx" or "search.php?{vb:raw session.sessionurl}do=getnew&contenttype=vBFor um_Post&exclude=xx" (This occurs in a few places.) |

Hi Lynne,
I only need this change in the navbar. I think this works, thanks, but it looks now very strange in combination with vbSEO. The link now looks like Original: http://www.tld.com/forum/search.php&exclude=186,324 vbSEO: http://www.tld.com/forum/whatsnew/&exclude=186,324 The vbSEO link should still show http://www.tld.com/forum/whatsnew/ Any idea how I can do this? Kind regards jluerken |

You would probably need to actually modify the file itself if you need the link to stay like that.

Sorry to bump this but I have a related question. Is there a way to exclude a user rather than forums?
