in general settings/options under Site Name / URL / Contact Details
did you add the trailing slash to the url?

I'm having the same problem. The Forum URL is without a trailing slash.

Check your customised email body phrases - there was a change to the $threadlink variable. Make sure they don't say:

$vboptions[bburl]/$threadlink

The $threadlink variable is the full URL so you should remove the '$vboptions[bburl]/'.

That was the problem. Thank you for the help

Seems that there was a problem with a second language file.

I'd installed german and english (german for the setup).
All changes had to be done in the german phrases.
