Auto-PM forward

I'm looking to create a mod which allows a user to setup PM auto-forwarding to another user.

I have an understanding of MYSQL and php so I'm looking for any suggestions or tips about how to approach this in vBulletin..The frontend interface isn't causing me any concern - I'm more interesting in suggestions for how to work the backend but any hints are very welcome

Before someone mentions the ethics of auto-forwarding I will mention that this is meant to be used by staff who want to forward enquires to another staff member while on vacation as I think this could be a handy feature for a lot of the larger boards which don't have a ticket system setup.

If any experienced coders out there like the idea and would like to do it themselves drop me a PM - I wouldn't mind someone else taking this on before I spend too much time on it.
