| vbulletin info pulled from different database

Hello I'm trying to tackle some custom modifications, but I have not worked with vbulletin modding very much and am unsure of many of the locations of the variables/scripting I need to work with. If someone could help point me in the right direction, it would be much appreciated. Here is what I am trying to achieve: I need the username/password for vbulletin login, and everywhere else that usernames get inserted, to be pulled from a different database. Aside from that, my website has it's own registration form, with data such as address, a profile picture, email address, a PM system, etc. I need to have all of this information inserted into vbulletin. So vbulletin need to "pull" it from my current database. I need the advice of you that are more experience with how vbulletin is setup. The website is custom built, so it's not nuke or anything like that. I have created this site myself, and am fairly decent in PHP so that's not the issue here. Thanks in advance for anyones input.
